So far the studio has been working on a short animation about a seafood chef and a mermaid. Although they may not seem like a big studio, I like the art and I made sure to DM them on Instagram about how much I liked their work and asking what it was like to work in the industry. They haven't replied yet which is a little embarrassing, but hopefully the next studio will.

The studio makes african inspired superhero & fantasy stories. And is the home to award-winning titles like Malika, E.X.O., Iyanu, WindMaker & more!
They do comics as well as animations and I really seem to like their style. Despite them seeming to do more 3D animations and me being into 2D, I still attempted to reach out and DM them. They are located in the USA: Laurel, MD. My family was a bit unsure about me reaching out overseas, but I did it anyway.... Not that they replied to me either....
Anyway, third times a charm they say.
Emails And Attempt Number 3:
My third try out was not done on Instagram, but instead by email. I was looking for another studio to contact, and with the help of a fellow classmate, she gave me the email of a woman called Anji who apparently said that she would gladly allow me to show my work and do a placement at their company.
She currently had a lot of projects for an animation student to join and have some experience. There was even the chance for paid work. Knowing that, how could I refuse? Right away I emailed Anji, letting her know that I was interested in showing her my work and having an internship at her company. Now, not to say that I feel ignored, but there's still been no reply so far...
In the end I got no responses from anyone. Maybe they didn't see my email or don't find me worth their time. Whatever the case may be, I pulled my weight and tried my best, I am currently still trying, but this is where I am with my internship attempts. Progress, I would not say I had that at all. But I did get to see some really cool art and build the guts to email some of the studios I fangirl over. I guess I'm a little ashamed I got ignored, but it is what it is.
Edit; Internship Update:
In the end, I managed to get a response from Anji on May 6th 2023. I'm due for an interview soon.
